TRAFFIC
BUREAU
The Andover Township Police Department has recently
created a Traffic Bureau. The primary goal of the
Traffic Bureau is to provide traffic safety in Andover
Township. In order to achieve this goal, the Traffic
Bureau will be enforcing motor vehicle violations that
could impact traffic safety. This enforcement helps to
decrease the amount of serious accidents and promote the
overall safety of everyone on the road. The Andover
Township Police Department participates in several
national campaigns including:
Click it or Ticket and Over the Limit
Under Arrest.
The Traffic Bureau’s responsibilities include
investigating all serious and fatal motor vehicle
crashes as well as all traffic related complaints made
to the bureau from the residents of Andover Township.
Please go to the Traffic Complaint form to report
any traffic complaints. Complaints will be handled in
various ways, for example the deployment of the
radar
trailer on a residential street that has a problem with
speeding vehicles, followed by aggressive enforcement of
speed limits in that area by our officers.
If you have a question concerning the NJ Motor
Vehicle Law (Title 39), or any other concerns regarding
traffic related matters feel free to contact the Andover
Township Traffic Safety Officer, Sergeant Stephen
Murrell at smurrell@atpd.org or (973) 383-5544.
Sergeant Murrell is also a member of The New Jersey
Police Traffic Officers Association. (NJPTOA)
