BODY WORN CAMERA INITIATIVE (BWCs)

For over 20 years the Andover Township Police Department has utilized in-car cameras also known as dash-cams to record and capture evidence or record events while responding to calls for service.  As of September 1, 2021 our officers began wearing newly acquired body-worn cameras.  Body cameras are considered a key piece of technology for enhancing law enforcement transparency.  The officers will be wearing V300 body cameras from Watchguard which integrates with our current Watchguard dash-cams in the patrol vehicles.

The Andover Township Police Department remains committed to serving our community with pride and professionalism.  As part of this commitment, we recognize the body worn and in-car cameras are an essential tool which can reinforce the public’s perception of police professionalism and transparency while preserving factual representations of police interactions.  The photos below depict the body worn cameras to be worn by members of the department.
